TALENT: Marita Esteva

  • National Ambassador
  • La Crema

A native of Ann Arbor Michigan, Marita attended the University of Michigan concentrating in film and art. While studying jazz vocals and working at the renowned Firefly Club, she discovered wine was another artistic expression. She was hooked on the idea of how wine and food are woven through life and all its important moments.

With that mindset, she moved to San Francisco in 2004. She’s held various management positions, including Wine Director, Food & Beverage Director and General Manager at esteemed establishments such as Left Bank in San Mateo, Passot Tanglewood in San Jose, the Kimpton Group, Wyndham Hotel Group’s Parc55, and Moana Restaurant Group’s ReddWood and Paragon restaurants. She’s specialized in building national and corporate wine programs.

Marita has shared her passion for wine by mentoring staff through introductory courses of the Court of Master Sommeliers, and her insight as how wine is art and a collective memory was quoted in Tasting Panel magazine, where she was featured alongside the rising new San Francisco sommeliers.

Marita joined Jackson Family Wines in 2013. As Brand Ambassador for La Crema Winery, she uses her enthusiasm and creativity to engage and educate wine buyers across the country, sharing the story of this well-loved winery.
